I see it as niche marketing. Chick-Fil-A is going after the christian right with traditional values. It's only a matter of time before Flaming Gay Fillet goes into business and appeals to their niche.

I think we should just legally define all marriages as a legal union. Let people marry who or what they want and then let the church's define marriage. Basically all the government is concerned with is who get's the inheritance, who gets custody, and who gets visitation rights. The church's can worry about what is right and wrong on the higher levels. The fact is, you have to allow freedom of religion to have a free society.

Marriage should be defined as a union between two consenting adults. DONE. If churches don't want to recognize same-sex unions, fine. But to prohibt people from getting the heath, visitation and death benefits rightfully theirs because some zealot somewhere disagrees with their choice of life partner is not only wrong, it's completely indefensible.

Sometimes creating contriversy works in your favor. I mean around 2% of the population is gay and most of their relationships break up. The whole gay marriage thing hasn't been on the radar until just a few years ago. It's a fad. Traditional marriage has been around for thousands of years. California is a very liberal state and they can't even pass it there because the hispanic Catholics won't accept it.

So let's ruffle some feathers and get lots of media attention. In a day when people are eating out less and Chick-Fil-A was just lost in the huge chasm of fast food, now everyone knows who they are. It's simply numbers and I bet this has increased their sales.

I saw a whole bunch of facebook messages from friends all talking about going to chic-fil-a and all this other bullshit.

You know, it's truly sad. I used to identify myself as a conservative, and much like how these pious douche bags hijacked a large portion of Christianity and turned into an excuse to rail against gays and abortion, and demonize others. The GOP has been hijacked and pretty much turned their constituents into idiots who are easily distracted by a goddamned red ball every 5 seconds.

I'm also quite disgusted with my country. I realize that the US is by far not perfect when it comes to dealing with people's civil rights and liberties, but for a time there was a more idealized picture that we were the ones who were to stand up to tyranny and inequality.

You know how unique our country is? While watching the olympics, I can guarantee you wouldn't see a more diverse nation than ours, with people from all sorts of races, creeds and backgrounds competing for the gold. You don't see that with nations like China, Russia and smaller European countries. That's fucking cool, and that element should be celebrated more.

To go and dance around, celebrating what Chick-fil-a is doing, and not call them out on their act of bigotry is fucking lame. And frankly? In my opinion is Un-American as hell.

I'm not saying they shouldn't be allowed to set up and have their business, but they definitly deserved to be called out on their bullshit, and boycotted if people feel strongly enough about it.

I don't drink vodka. Not since I came damn close to alcohol poisoning with it several years ago, anyway.

And just because chickens are incredibly stupid creatures (much like teabaggers actually) it doesn't mean they don't feel pain or stress.

I don't have a moral objection to eating meat. I just don't think it's neccessary to torture a creature for its entire life in order to do so. Let the poor bird be happy up until the moment the ax falls on the back of his neck.
