Well, one of the telling things to me is that when police interviewed Zimmerman and told him they had video footage of the altercation, his response was basically "thank god" because he thought it would prove his innocence. That seems pretty telling to me.

And regardless of what you think of the trial, verdicts should be based on evidence and not based on emotion and should not be reactionary. Accusations (unprovable from the available evidence) of racism only serve to make it an emotional issue. It's the burden of the state to prove without a reasonable doubt that Zimmerman was guilty. Zimmerman didn't have to prove his innocence. I think the prosecution lacked any real evidence that was damning against Zimmerman, which is ultimately why they couldn't prove their case. Also, I think the prosecutor was a huge jackass.
