I never come to this end of the board. That is on purpose. I use this site as a get away. So, against my better judgement, here goes my two cents...
This is how I see it:
Zimmerman is a Barney Fife wannabe. Just out, trolling around, looking to puff his chest out to strangers.
Martin is a punk teenager. (Before you throw stones, I think most teenagers are punk teenagers. I was a punk teenager). Just trolling around. Burnt one, now needs some snack.
The perfect storm hit, high punk teen ran into small penis cop wannabe. Confrontation gets physical. Martin is dead and shouldn't be.
Should Zimmerman be guilty of something? Absolutely!! Should he spend the rest of his life in jail? I don't think so. Too much gray area for me to judge. Do I think that he shot Martin because he is a racist? No. He's an idiot, not a racist.
My biggest problem with this whole trial is the typical scum popping their heads up trying to advance their agendas. BOTH SIDES! Rev. Al is going to Florida now. Why? He ain't bringing Martin back. All he is going to do is fuel the flames of hate. White folks shooting off fireworks? No better than Rev. Al. Both sides in a pissing contest and it just spreads the hate.
Just ask yourself this. Would we be talking about this is Zimmerman was black. Black guy shoots black kid. Or, what if Martin was white. White cop shoots white kid. No. CNN and Fox wouldn't spend 2 seconds on this. The media, more than anyone, fuel this hate. All for ratings and money. "White Hispanic"? Reports of Martin's parents trademarking his name the day after his death? These guys fire people up, people fall for it and they rake in your money.
I choose not to participate. I believe Zimmerman should be in jail for something, not because he is an "Old ass cracker". I don't believe he should be in jail for the rest of his life, not because I'm racist. Just going on the info I have since I wasn't there.
This country will NEVER get past race because deep down NEITHER side wants too. And the media know this. And they are making millions exploiting it.

Yeah, I have said while I thought there was absolutely no way he was guilty of 2nd degree murder, I wouldn't have been shocked to see manslaughter.... Although the manslaughter definition in Florida does contain phrases like "intentionally committed an act", so even that was very shaky, IMO....

I believe people have the right to legally own firearms in certain categories. I certainly believe people have the right to defend themselves and protect loved ones. You do not have the right to act like a yahoo fucking cowboy militia and confront people, essentially acting in the capacity of a police officer. It's not only dangerous setting a vigilantism precedent, but it also is an infringement on basic civil liberties. Trayvon may have been a total cunt of a teen, but at the end of the day he was just walking home and wasn't accosting anyone nor breaking into anything...Comment

I didnt know getting out of a car was illegal..I didnt know walking was illegal..IF you listen to GZ, he said he was walking back to his vehicle when TM appeared, asked him if he had a problem and punched him..THAT is illegal..George is a pussy with a gun..no doubt..he didnt have a chance in a fist fight so he pulled the piece and shot the kid...TM was a few houses from home..he didnt have to circle back to be a bad ass..he ran into a little man with a gun..Had GZ been bigger, would Trayvon had run home??Comment

Yeah, if you "listen to GZ," he also said he never heard of the 'stand your ground' law, and was proven to be a liar when it was shown to have been widely and frequently discussed in his criminal justice class (or whatever shit cop-wannabe courses he took...). You'll have to excuse me if I don't totally trust "his side of the story." Zimmerman also claimed he was being pummeled and his head was being slammed, yet he upholstered his pistol and shot the kid dead center. Yeah, um, if he had stayed in the car like he was told too by the 9/11 dispatcher, he would have seen the kid walk home at a distance...Comment

THIS. It's Zimmerman's fault - there shouldn't have been any debate. WHY should Martin have HAD to run, as some have suggested (trying to remove blame from Zimmerman)? He wasn't doing anything wrong. Zimmerman was. And if you're describing Martin as a "thug" you have an agenda, as the only characterization of him as a "thug" came from Stormfront.
