My thoughts initially were Ed is doing this to pass on the VH name to Wolfgang. Seriously, that was my first thought. That of course is assuming that Mike wouldn't be playing bass and that Wolfie would.

Now, I hope that's not the case, but that's what I was thinking. As for Melodicrock's credibility: Yeah, dude has said this before, but wasn't he right? Mike said they had tried to get back with Dave 3 times (which he said that things sounded awesome). Things just wouldn't work out. He's also the one who first announced Sammy fronting the tour in '04. And he also said their would be 3 new songs (not that that was a bold prediction) but he was accurate about it all. I honestly don't think he would know about this unless someone wanted him to know. But, I'm with Pojo, I'll believe it after they walk off stage. But, I would buy a ticket. It might be my only chance to see Dave and Ed on stage together (other than on Youtube).

I don't think so, it sounds like they might be going across the pond to Europe. I honestly think that'd be more of a reality than Australia, or Japan would. I love my '81 London boot.

Well, being bitter over the whole VH mess for all these years just got a bit tired for me and so on.

Fuck it -- ya know, I was only a little 10 year old when my bro brought me along with his 16-17 year old buddies to the 1984 show. That night, still very vivid in my mind, changed my fucking life.

But I was only ten -- and I wore earplugs, wasn't old enough to drink or fuck and so on.

I want whatever CVH experience I can get at this point.

              1996 would've been fucking great.

              Heck, even 2000.

But they didn't happen and it was extremely disapointing.

But I'll take 2007, if it happens, whatever that may be.

F and A Double V! My sentiments exactly, except that I was 2 when Dave last played live with Ed, and therefore not at the show. Damn my young age!

If they do this tour, it HAS TO BE HUGE! It has to cover ALL Areas!

                  That being:

                  North America (US and Can)
                  Mexico
                  South America (Brazil)
                  UK
                  Germnay
                  Sweden
                  Finland
                  Japan
                  Australia
                  France

Fuck, even go to Russia or even play a show for the troops in Afghanistan!

Ed could be doing it for a few reasons in his favor:

                        - To retrieve HIS fan base

                        - Make a Million Dollars (or whatever the $$ figure Dave said each band member was offered)

                        - Get more of his fan base to go out and buy the PORN DVD that Ed will get more back on his Porn investment from sales

                        - Pass the torch to Wolfie
"Meet us in the Future.....NOT the Pasture".......DLR, August '07, VH Press Conference - Tour '07-'08

You can hate him for his long-term companionship with Sam, but you can't say the guy isn't the classiest of acts to fans, and is the one that treats them the best overall, by a wide margin. And if Ed/Al and Dave can bury the hatchet, there is no reason why Mike and Ed/Dave can't bury the hatchet.

And BTW, don't think Dave doesn't know that Mike is an essential part of CVH most of all...
                          A wise post.

It's not CVH without Mike, true.

But I'd still go and see em. 3/4 is better than shit all.....

It had Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Mike Bordin - no Bill Ward until summer of 1997, mostly because they didn't think Bill was up to playing on that large of a touring scale (which nobody knew at the time, they just said "Bill's not going to be involved" and that was it). Bill was on record at the time as saying that Black Sabbath was finally and truly dead for him, because his old friends had screwed him out of it all.

But when Bill did come back in a year or so later, all was forgiven, the live album came out, so on and so forth.

The point is, with that example, there was more actually going on than what anybody was aware of - maybe it's the same case here and there's something else going on behind the scenes. On the good side of it, Black Sabbath was just as equally volatile between Ozzy and Tony and Geezer, and they made it work, so the lesson is - throw enough money at arguing band members when their careers really have nowhere else to go and it'll work.

                            Keep positive!

True dat, no one ever thought Tony and Ozzy would kiss and make up did they?

As for CVH it just seems like the right time, it's knockin on the door of 30 years since VHI and all
