In the old days, the albums didn't compare to the live experience. As good as VH albums were, the live shows were mucho better. Oh well, guess nosuchluck is too young to understand.

Hell, I've got no problem with Mike. If he wants to play with Sammy, that's his business. People here were screaming for a freakin' Eat 'em and Smile band reunion, and Vai left Dave to play with David Coverdale. That's just as bad.
A reunion would not be right unless Mike is there. Hot sauce or not he was part of the equation. If all the gears aren't there, then the motor won't run right.Comment

The last time Andrew changed his banner like that, he was posting that the Van Hagar reunion WOULD happen. He's still saying this one is "likely". I think it will remain "likely" until they walk off the stage from the first show.
I just don't get as excited about these rumors anymore, but deep down I think they all know they have to do it. Like Dave said, it's the only way they can all move on musically and have it accepted.
But with the low numbers on the 2004 shows, (and some people considered that a "real reunion"
), you can bet promoters know they'll have a hard time selling $100+ tickets without the original 4.
I think Ed's mostly mad at Mike for calling him out on the tour about playing so drunk and sloppy. But it's no different than Dave telling the world he thinks Ed's meth addictions have messed him up. If Ed can get over that, he can get over Mike calling him a drunk.
