Well Good for you. If all mom’s were like you, this world might be a better place to live. Not knocking anyone who takes a kid to this concert, just giving Sparkie her props for doing the right law abiding thing. Personal responsibility sure is lacking in this world today. This argument reminds me about the Fluoride in our water argument we had in San Antonio some years back. I didn’t want our government to put Fluoride a.k.a. Poison in my water. My neighbor was for it and he told me if I didn’t want Fluoride in the water I should pay for water to be shipped to my house. And I told him, if you want fluoride in the water go to Walgreens/Eckert and buy a bottle of Fluoride drops and put the Fluoride in yourself. So who’s right? The people who say, I wanna go see CVH, smoke dope, enjoy themselves and if you’re offended that I’m smoking dope in front of your kids then you should leave. Or the people who paid good money to take their kids to see a great CVH show, they sit next to a person who’s smoking dope and the person with the kid says if getting high is such a priority, do it before the show. The answer to this argument is common sense, the law and respect for others. For all you people who thought the first was right, how would you like it if someone put on a porn video while you and YOUR kid were watching a football game. If you believe the latter, than Sparkie is doing the right thing. Because she’s abiding by the law, she’s using her common sense and she’s respecting other people. We gotta respect her for that.
If getting high is such a priority, do it before the show.
Great common sense. The only thing I could add to this quote is 5 stars!
Kids aside, WTF makes anybody think it's A-the fuck-okay to partake amongst others who may not be so inclined?
I remember my mom/aunts took me to my first concert in 1978 to see The Commodores. What I remembered about that concert was smelling that unique smell that I’ve never smelt before at that time. I remember seeing people smoke a white thing that looks like a cigarette, but smelled 10 times better. After a few songs and a 1000 breaths later, my heart started to groove with the bass guitar, the soda and popcorn somehow started to taste better, the lights looked prettier and I found myself standing on my chair with a lighter in my hand singing “3 Times a Lady.” That was the first time I got high. For the next 14 years I struggled with suicide, addiction and a lot more things I won’t go into. The most stupid statement that I’ve ever heard is, “Pot has never hurt anyone.” Maybe that’s somewhat true in a nice, upscale, suburban neighborhood. But in the real world, that’s a bunch of crap. Watch the BET channel around 2 in the morning and you’ll see what I mean.
If they come down to San Antonio, I’ll be there, but without my kids. Because I know, It’ll get crazy here. WOW... It took me over a 1,000 words to say that.
