I wouldn't be surprised. VH could fuck up a salad

Aww crap.. I'm hoping this isn't the case... Although I can totally appreciate them wanting things in order for the US tour. Guess we'll wait and see.

Well whatever is happening the promoter AJ Maddah is going to be making an announcement about the rumours going around soon according to Nova FM 96.9 Sydney

Hopefully it's not because of Van Halen pulling out because that's the major reason why i'm going to this festival

Of course, since he confuses Stix (the drummer), with Micheal Starr (the singer), I don't believe a word.

Let's hope so... I don't buy the VH bit if that article, I'm more concerned with the event being canceled.

The usually constant stream of news filtering out from the Soundwave camp has slowed to a crawl in the last week. Rumours about the festival's future have been building since their much anticipated second line-up announcement failed to come to fruition last Monday 1st August. The announcement—which was due to reveal the second and third headliners—was then postponed until Wednesday 3rd August at 10pm, but once again failed to appear. With suggestions that festival headliners Van Halen were experiencing internal trouble, the Soundwave teams Revolution debut appeared to be under a cloud.

Today, a tweet from the singer of L,A band Steel Panther, one of the bands who are booked to perform at the inaugural festival this September (and with whom TheVine conducted perhaps our funniest and most NSFW interview ever), suggests the entire festival has been cancelled. Actually it does more than suggest it—it outright says it.

At 10am this morning Stixadinia (aka Michael Starr, frontman of the band) tweeted "Soundwave Revolution is cancelled. I am bummed." He followed the rash statement up half an hour later with a further missive:

"Just got word from our management that the whole festival is cancelled. I hope I'm wrong but I was told it's official. Anyone hear same?"

The tweet inspired a great many Soundwave fans, many of whom have already bought tickets to the festival, to attempt to clarify the remarks with both the singer and promoter AJ Maddah, via his twitter handle @iamnotshouting. The usually vocal Maddah has yet to reply to the accusation (or indeed, tweet since the postponement announcement failed to materialise last Wednesday), whilst Starr replied to the numerous outcries with:

    "Just wait. I ain't wrong."

The Soundwave Team recently announced their move into indie-pop territory, with the creation of the Harvest Festival. Featuring The Flaming Lips, The National and Portishead, Harvest is due to kick off in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney in November.

    More news as it comes.

Maybe the management that was whining about Van Halen's incompetence didn't look in the mirror.
