We use those kind of can openers here in the US as well. I use the one with the handles and the two wheels at home because it's faster but use what you call the European kind when I go backpacking to save on weight. I use the little folding ones the US military use. I think they call them the M1 can opener. Very small and they hardly weigh anything and they open a can pretty good.
The American style can openers will last a long time if they are made of quality steel. As Elvis said the newer ones tend to be Chinese made pieces of crap. The heart is on the left. The blood is red.Comment

I think those came out here in the early 1970's. Before that we used these funny can openers that you turned a knob but it would crawl along the edge of the can and cut the lid as it traveled along. Getting it on right was a bit tricky. When the handled ones came out everyone had to have one.No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

It's the P-38 can opener. I have about a zillion of them in a box. Handy little things and he's right, the more you use them the better they work. No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

Thanks, I take the pics with my iPhone and upload them through the tapatalk app, using tapatalk to host the images... I upload them at their original size, no image reduction. The key is having the right angle and making sure your focus point and lighting are good. Yes, I'm a bit of a photo nerd.Originally posted by wiseguyThat shit will welcome you in the morning and pour the milk in your count chocula for ya.Comment

I had a Greek salad for lunch yesterday. I had them put souvlaki on top of it. It makes a nice chicken salad if you do that. I had some dolmades and tiropikes too. I went all out and even had a glass of Retsina.Last edited by Nitro Express; 02-13-2013, 06:19 AM.No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

I am craving the sallad that I buy from these Latin American people, with grilled vegetables. They also have real Mexican food, I tried it once and HATED it. Threw it away. Wasn't edible. I like swedish Mexican :D
But their sallads, AAAAAHHH!!!The heart is on the left. The blood is red.Comment
