What's scary is that someone high up in either party actually blames what happened in 1968 on the protesters and they are so spectacularly ill-informed...

Both parties have been bought off. They both are corrupt. The only guy in the Republican Party with any integrity is Ron Paul and they are ignoring him because of it. They want another big spending, big government, bail the crooks out, and keep the wars going president.

OWS is just the second chapter of a people's movement that started with the Tea Party. The Tea Party got taken over in a hurry and lost it's true purpose and OWS popped up. They will try and take it over as well but they seem to be having a hard time. I think one reason why is the movement is diverse and claims no allegiance to any political party. It doesn't seem to have any centralized leadership and frankly doesn't seem to really want a leader.

What it basically stands for is people are tired of being ripped off. Students don't want to graduate debtor slaves. People don't want to go bankrupt to get some healthcare. The middle class is tired of being taxed and regulated to death while the very rich pay no taxes and the welfare rats get a free ride. We are tired of our constitutional rights being ignored and taken away.

OWS will probably inspire more movements. I see it as the people vs the government, banks, and corporations. It's the begining of a revolution and not just in this country but throughout the world.

Tim Kaine and Debbie Batistafan-Shitforbrains have "restored" the DNC to the festering shitpile it was under Terry McUseless.

All the work Howard Dean put into restoring the party, thrown away by these treasonous Koch funded DLC assholes.

In John Heilemann's cover story "2012=1968?," he wonders whether Occupy Wall Street protesters will do to Charlotte's Democratic National Convention in the summer of 2012 what demonstrators did to the Chicago DNC in 1968. The North Carolina city, sometimes called the "Wall Street of the South," is not taking any chances, and is already working to pass an ordinance that would make occupying downtown spaces with tents a "public nuisance," in addition to banning "noxious substances," padlocks, and other camping equipment. The fact that it would knock out the city's current overnight demonstrators is an added bonus.

Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx said dubiously last month that the rule, which could be enacted in January, is not aimed at a specific group. "Unlike many cities that have well-developed regulations governing protest activity, our local regulations contain gaps that need to be filled," he said. But a memo about the ordinance does note, "The recent issues related to camping on city property have further amplified the need to review whether the city wants to regulate this activity during the DNC." A city councilman added of the current Occupy Charlotte faction, "Once those ordinances go into effect, those overnight stays will end."

A local National Lawyers Guild director says that the rule's constitutionality might be challenged and could even spur "increased confrontation between protesters and police." For their part, the protesters say they don't even have a plan for the DNC yet, but acknowledge the opportunity it presents. "Everybody I talked to said the DNC is ground zero for everything," said one organizer. "Everybody wants to be involved. We're estimating several thousands of people coming especially from the Occupy community." The idea of an alternative convention has been floated, while another Occupy organizer called the DNC "a powder keg." Tents or no tents, Charlotte "has got a big target on it," he said.

Of course. As soon as George Soros, the unions, and the Democratic Party saw they could not take over OWS then they ratcheted up the police attacks. Notice that the police sargents were targeting women and old people. Why? They wanted to send the protesters over the edge and make them violent so they would have the excuse to clobber them. I think we will start to see the politicians start to label protestors as terrorists next and then bring Homeland Security into it more. The mayor of Oakland already said she was on a conference call with Homeland Security and mayors around the country on how to handle the protests. Make no mistake about it folks, the government is declaring war on it's citizens. Plain and simple. Just look at what the US Senate just passed. They want to stay in power indefinately. They want to bail out their banker and corporate friends and give them more power and have us pay for it generation after generation. They have been used to a distracted and dumb public and used to getting away with it. We are really dealing with some sick, power hungery people here and it's in both parties.

It's deeper than the Kochs. They are just one slice of pie. It's also foreigners. Basically people that think multinational corporations are more important than people's rights. The problem seems to be the worst in the G5 countries. Outside of those you have a growing economy.

That may be, but the son isn't the father. And I'm under the impression that the Chicago PD actions were not ordered as much as the boots on the ground decided to take action against the supposedly 'treasonous Hippies' (Yippies actually)...

You don't give the people much credit, do you?

They agree with the Wall Street and financial reforms but they also see the fringe element in the OWS movement: those 13 points consisting of such silliness as providing a living wage even for derelicts that don't choose to work, forgiving all consumer debt, and raising the minimum wage to $20 an hour.

The problem with the OWS movement is they don't have a unified message.

OWS is a hodgepodge. I would just assume it have no rudder than a rudder that leads the movement in a corrupt direction. Everyone except for the most brain dead knows it's your constitutional right to protest the government. In fact, the constitution is full of rights that allows the average citizen to protect themselves from tyranny. If anything, seeing how Homeland Security, city governments, and the police have treated a peaceful protest should wake you up. Tyranny has silently been rolling in and the people have been blind to it. Thank's to OWS it's noisy now. Why should we reward the Sammy Hagars of society?

Basically I think the overall message is throw the crooks in jail. Restore the banking regulations that protect the average investor. Get the corporations out of the political election process period. Uncover fraudulent debt and write it off (since the Federal Reserve Bank is our biggest creditor we could save $trillions). Restore an economy and political system that allows anyone who wants to work for it to succeed. I think most people just want a level playing field and some rules that keep the game fair. Not some gay everyone is a winner just because they breath air shit.

I'm not saying they don't have a right to march and protest (squatting on public or private land is another matter, however). I'm just saying there is a reason the average working Joe on the street doesn't have too good of an opinion of the OWS crowd.

This is power and money in action trying to propagate a myth that the vast majority of people need to slave for the greedy bastards at the top.

                              That's a trick question!

In order for people to wonder why you're not surprised, they would have to actually give a fuck about what you think, and I don't think they do.

                              I know damn well that I don't.
