Why should she? Medical records contain very personal information. I don't blame her in the least. She doesn't we the press shit whether her story is true or not.

You're once again painting with a rather broad brush.

Are all Seattle cops like that? No.

Are they all breaking the law? No.

That's like saying all left-coast liberals are insanely stupid. Are they? Of course not, at least outside of this forum they're not.

In any event, they're now questioning the validity of this woman's claim that she was pregnant and miscarried. Could all be a hoax.

Well, that still wouldn't change the fact that they kicked her in the gut AFTER she told them she was pregnant.

Maybe, but it sounds like there is no proof she was even kicked. The video shows her getting blasted with pepper spray, but does not show her being kicked. At least according to the Seattle Times story. And her family members are calling her a compulsive liar. So, color me skeptical on this one.

Do you think pregnant women, or anyone else, should have to live in fear of the police in this country?

Let's put it this way: Do you (or Brian, or anyone else) think our country should be a place where anyone should be frightened away from peaceful assembly because of what the police might do?

The problem is, these have not exactly been peaceful.

Some jackass screaming out "FACIST PIGS!", and then fucking with the cops, like I've seen countless times happen with this. Is. not. peaceful.

There's a lot of idiots at these things, who are thinking more with emotions rather than with logic. I wouldn't trust being around a large crowd of them. Same with the Tea Party. Herd mentality for the both of them.

Not saying that there's not intelligent people with logic, that if you took them aside, and gave them a cup of water to cool off that they wouldn't be reasonable people. But, I think Men In Black kinda sums it up:

I hope to make this clear and clarify my comments. I do not believe those involved with OWS are not intelligent people. Quite the opposite. I think that some of the leaders of the movement who have a voice and know what they're talking about should be getting a bigger platform. The problem is, it let to many whack-jobs into the fold. The voices of reason and rationale are being drowned out by those who are just looking at as an excuse to relive the 60's.

Nobody wants to hear from the dude running some third rate socialist party who lives in his mom's basement. But maybe the single mom who has seen things first hand as to the problems with her current conditions and the way the system has kinda fucked her over. Her perspective would help this country out a lot.

Nobody wants to hear from the idiot with a tea bag on his ben franklin hat who belongs to the local gun club, but maybe the small business owner down the street running the store who's struggling would perhaps be an interesting voice to hear.

Those are the people who should be having their voices heard, not these professional protesters who look like they're geared up to be superfans at any given nfl stadium on sunday.

There have been a handful of masked "anarchists" (i.e. government agents trying to stir up shit) but most of the problems have been caused by the fascist thug police.

Not that all police are fascist thugs, but it's becoming far too apparent that too many are.

I suspect part of the problem is you have some ex-military guys coming directly from Iraq or Afghanistan right onto the streets of the USA, brains fried with PTSD and unable to mentally know the difference between a combat zone and a peaceful protest. The motherfucker in Oakland who deliberately shot Scott Olsen in the head with a tear gas cannister targeted him for a reason, and I'm guessing the "Veterans For Peace" shirt Olsen was wearing had something to do with it.

Nobody should go directly from the military into civilian police force, at the very least not without a complete psychological evaluation.

No question, I don't doubt that such a thing is going on. But I also think that there's a few civilians who are indeed looking to cause trouble.

My only thought is they're probably wired to think a certain way for this sort of thing. The last time we've really had protests of this magnitude were back in the late 60's, and it was just a terrible fucked up chapter in our countries history.

We've had a mixture of pro-labor protests since this countries founding, but they've always strangely found a way to work themselves out. Case in point? Look at good ol' Teddy R. and the conditions he was elected under.

Actually, come to think of it..

The right keeps calling for Reagan to come rescue them..

                          The left? FDR.

You know who we really should be on the look out for?

He did some truly great things for this country, and is often forgotten. The FDA, National Parks, Trust Busting. He also took over during a time of mass corruption between business and gov't and seemed to really clean house in that regard.

That's the type of guy we need.

No doubt that both Roosevelts did great things for this country.

Reagan? He's the one who started this 30 year toilet swirl into Depression II. Fuck him with Satan's pitchfork.

Unfortunately, that is the society we are creating. I know of people (and even myself) who will not venture into downtown Denver because of how the police act. They are feared in this city.
