City moves to evict Occupy Boston protesters
November 30, 2011
BOSTON—The city of Boston is taking steps to evict Occupy Boston protesters living in an encampment in a city park.
The city filed a 200-page document in court arguing that while the protesters have the right to free speech, they have no right to live on public property.
Mayor Thomas Menino, who has previously expressed support for the Occupy movement, tells WCVB-TV (http://bit.ly/uwJs97) that he wants to have the legal tools to have dozens of tents in Dewey Square Park removed.
The city says in the court filing that the encampment poses a public safety problem and is in violation of health and fire codes.
An attorney for the protesters says Occupy Boston plans to stay and fight eviction.
A court hearing is scheduled for Thursday.

The US now is a war economy. I remember when we used to make fun of the Soviet Union for dumping all their resources into their military and their consumer goods manufacturing was so lacking. There never will be any peace when you spend that much of your resources on war. Too many people need war to make money while we outsourced much of our manufacturing which ironically allowed us to win World War II and is what made us a world power in the first place.
Now we have the Chinese make most our stuff, the fat cats get rich on the cheap labor. We lose jobs because of it. They don't want to make anything productive because it's just easier to print money from nothing and move it from one bank to another and make money on the transfer. Then you have to have the big military to protect the US dollar status as the world's oil reserve currency. If a guy like Saddam sells his oil in something besides US dollars you sack them and take them over.No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

Camping out gets attention but it's not going to change anything until you get a lot of the working class people behind the movement and some decent people to replace the crooks in office. Some of the most screwed people in the country are the police themselves. They don't get paid very well. Many hate their job. I'm sure many are upside down in their mortgage. You know you are successful when many in the police organizations start to support your cause. Also, where are the protest songs to unify people around? Can't anyone write a decent protest song anymore or did that die in the 60's and 70's? It's a start. It hasn't been taken over yet like the tea party did but many of us are wondering where all this is going. What's the plan and who is going to lead it?
OWS is going nowhere until you get the people who are too busy to camp out in the park for weeks on end behind it. The overworked and underpaid trying to support a family in a world where the government takes more of their money, prices are going up, and college tuition has increased 60% in ten years. They don't have the luxury of not working. They might be working three jobs to support kids at home and they are burnt and angry. Until your get those people behind you, it's an empty cause. People complain that there are no jobs. Maybe good paying high end jobs. But there are always jobs and work to do and many people take them because they are too proud to get on welfare. The jobs may be way below their education level but they you got to do what you got to do and amazing enough, sometimes you make a connection that leads to a better job by working a job. You might meet the right contact tending bar or maybe someone you wait the tables of can use you. It takes a job to find a job. You have to get the workers behind the movement or you have nothing. These are the people the politicians fear. They can't be bought off or made dependent on a government program. They are too proud for that, they think for themselves, and they are motivated. Theres a dirty secret on that mandatory spending. The government keeps two sets of books. One with the long-term liabilities and one with them removed. If you add in the government pensions the debt swells to a whopping $60 Trillion. If the current trend continues the banks and connected companies are going to make off with all the money and even leave the government employees screwed. Sure the fed can print the money but the cat with be out of the bag by then and the people who stole all those dollars will have their money converted into something else. Printing money is great if you get your money first. That allows you time to convert your money into other assets before the inflation really kicks in and then you leave the little guy screwed. This is the plan. This is what is going on now. Oh, and they will come in and buy up all the real estate cheap. They got that planned.
What they are hoping for is the American and European public are too stupid to figure out what happened and who is responsible. They don't give a shit if the politicians stuck in it get screwed when the time comes. They are expendable. We might want to take note of the ones volunteering to leave office now.
