At the state level it's acceptable...

I don't see for a second why you want to submit your personal medical records to a central federal beauracratic database that WILL used against you at some point...

And what if you are dragged into the ER unconscious in another state. A lot of people get in bad car accidents on the road.

Of course there IS a way they could do this and keep it out of the national database, but you aren't going to like it. And I'm not exactly comfortable with the idea myself.

But - strictly speaking - if your records were stored on a chip on your own body, then at least it could only be scanned by someone in the physical vicinity of you and your chip.

Yeah, I know.... insert "mark of the Beast" reference here, but if you want a system that would be secure and wouldn't have random hackers surfing your records, that would be the way to go.

Slightly less intrusive would be if you could carry it around in your smart phone/tablet/whatever mobile device, but odds are whatever circumstances would leave you unconscious might kill your phone too.
