Disagree. The Black record is superlative for heavy metal in many ways. The first five Metallica records are just incredible, incredible metal (I really wish they'd reissue '....Justice' with a re-mix and re-master)

After that, Metallica experimented for most of the '90s.

Personally, I think 'Death Magnetic' and the 'Beyond Magnetic' EP are very good. Not a patch on the early works, but that's asking too much.

I don't think Death Magnetic is that bad of an album. I don't ever listen to it much anymore....so maybe there's something to be said for that but I respect your opinion about the black album. I just disagree. I do agree that Justice could use a re-master.....Death Magnetic could too.....

Metallica is nothing more than a Mustaine wannabee band since Dave left them, back in the early 80s...they stole his licks his rythm and his attitude, almost as much of a shit band as VH became after another Dave left .

I do know most of you X'r guys, "LIVE" for metallica.

Whattever.

Now I am a HUGE Megadeth fan but even I will tell you Metallica are not a Dave wannabee band.I don't fall into the crowd that swears Metallica invented metal but they are one of the most important metal bands out there.

I would love to hear Justice remastered too,my favourite Metallica album.I liked the black album too.

'Ok, you. Stop overcompensating by being so busy and stick to that big back beat you used to lay down.

You. Your vibrato sound out of tune. Sort it.

You. Have some Jagermestier. Oh, and we're using the Black album guitar sound.

And we are NOT making 'The Unforgiven 4'.

With a decent mix 'DM' would have been a easier - and warmer - listen. Megadeth's recent records sound immense, as do Anthrax's. It isn't difficult and it shoots the songs in the foot to not give them the best dressing possible.

'Beyond....' sounds a little better.

I remember they debuted "Harvester" before And Justice... came out on the Monsters of Rock tour in '88...first time I heard it live it (at the Pontiac Silverdome in MI) it was like "Hooooly fuckballs!" but the recorded version does sound kinda lackluster...epic tune, though.
