Before, during his ascension to and in the early part of his rule, Hitler spoke positively about Christianity in order to appear that he would be a leader who would protect Christianity in Germany, as the heads of Germany's churches were quite influential in politics at that time. Hence TMJKID's bullshit quotes and pictures from 1936.
Once he cemented his power, his attitudes towards Christians and Catholicism changed sharply. Hitler could not attack Christianity as openly as he did Judaism, communism or political opponents. He set about attacking the Church as he had in earlier times attacked his political enemies. The attacks tended not to be overt. Believers were made to feel that they were not good Germans and their leaders were painted as treasonous and contemptible. The state removed crucifixes from the walls of Catholic classrooms and replaced it with a photos of Hitler and Christian elements in Christmas carols were replaced with pagan references.
The first three displayed pages of this book discusses a portion of this: http://books.google.com/books?id=xRr...page&q&f=false
I've read Mein Kamph and he only makes reference to a remote supreme being, making references such as "creator of the universe" or "lord of creation" but there is no concrete adherence or statement that binds him to any specific religion, adding that he believed the Aryan race was created by God. Ultimately his religious views are like his art, his military strategy, his personal life, his politics and every other facet of the man: fragmented, twisted and deeply flawed."Don't want 'em to get you goat, don't show 'em where it's hid." - David Lee RothComment

I'm of Quaker/Friends belief.
I am not Catholic. My family just happened to be of German Catholic descent.
You didn't own shit. Hitler was not religious. Therefore, not Catholic.
Did you see the link I posted of the Catholics put in concentration camps due to speaking out against the Nazi's?Last edited by Unchainme; 08-02-2012, 10:05 PM.Still waiting for a relevant Browns TeamComment

Oh, yippee --- a few Catholics in Germany spoke out against the Nazis --- and yet this 1933 photo shows an official decree by the Catholic Church supporting the Nazi regime.
You don't have to be proud about the Catholic Church's involvement in Hitler's atrocities --- but at least appear somewhat intelligent and acknowledge the simple TRUTH.

Hmm --- you keep denying the Catholic Church's involvement in Nazi atrocities --- and you're fascinated with JoePa's dick --- are you a Catholic priest ??

You can keep hammering the fuck away at that photo all you want, how about THIS one?
That's right, in 1938 he was Time Magazine's Man of the Year.
The point is, in the beginning he fooled a BUNCH of motherfuckers. That is a part of history we supposed to learn from.
The fact is, the Catholic Church caught on faster than Time did.
In 1936, Archbishop Cesare Orsenigo, Papal Nuncio to Germany, asked Cardinal Pacelli, then Vatican Secretary of State, for instructions regarding an invitation from Hitler to attend a Nazi Party meeting in Nuremberg, along with the entire diplomatic corps. Pacelli replied, ”The Holy Father thinks it is preferable that your Excellency abstain, taking a few days’ vacation.”
In 1937, Orsenigo was invited along with the diplomatic corps to a reception for Hitler’s birthday. Orsenigo again asked the Vatican if he should attend. Pacelli’s reply was, “The Holy Father thinks not. Also because of the position of this Embassy, the Holy Father believes it is preferable in the present situation if your Excellency abstains from taking part in manifestations of homage toward the Lord Chancellor.”
During Hitler’s visit to Rome in 1938, Pius XI and Pacelli avoided meeting with him by leaving Rome a month early for the papal summer residence of Castel Gandolfo.
In 1937 Pope Pius XI issued the encyclical Mit brennender Sorge condemning Nazi ideology, notably the Gleichschaltung policy directed against religious influence upon education, as well as Nazi racism and antisemitism. Pius XI's encyclical Humani Generis Unitas was never published due to him dying before it could be issued, but the similar Summi Pontificatus was the first encyclical released by his successor (Pius XII), in October 1939.Last edited by gbranton; 08-02-2012, 10:19 PM."Don't want 'em to get you goat, don't show 'em where it's hid." - David Lee RothComment

TIME Magazine doesn't endorse the ideology of the people it picks for "Person of the Year", dippy --- they pick the most influential person of that year in terms of historical and cultural impact regardless of popular opinion.
TIME also picked Josef Stalin and Ayatullah Khomeini as "Person of the Year" --- are you implying the editors of TIME are staunch Communists and Islamic fundamentalists?

In Time's own words.... "Since 1927, TIME Magazine has chosen a man, woman, or idea that "for better or worse, has most influenced events in the preceding year."
Other evil bastards have had the yearly "honor" as well, such as in 2000.......
