I think you can bank on the information which is forthcoming from the William Morris Agency to be the Van Halen 2007 tour with Dave, Eddie, Alex and Wolfgang. Mike is out. Not only did Hagar fuck up Van Halen after Dave, he also sucked Mike right out of Van Halen for good.

who cares about solo projects. this is a Van Halen project and he is part of Van Halen. Now there is a chance that Classic VH will reunite and Eddie has to be an asshole. He comes out of his hole after scaring away all the singers and MA is supose to wait for him to get sane? Funny nobody here knew half the story and everyone thought he was nuts. Mike worked with him for 25 years and knows he is nuts and he is supose to wait around for a lunitic.

I think that if it wasn't for Wolfgang turning Ed back onto the CVH stuff and onto Dave that Dave wouldn't even be back. I think Wolfgang played a key part in getting Dave back in there. Dave, Eddie, Alex and Wolfgang is better than Sammy, Eddie, Alex and Mike. In a perfect world I would like to see the 4 original members but what can ya do? Mike should have jammed with Dave outside of VH and not Sammy.

What's happening now just isn't what I want.

In 1996, it made sense. All four members were there, new music was forthcoming...it was a reunion that could apply the moniker Van Halen to itself with righteous pride, and hold their heads as high as they ever did because they were coming up with new music...fuck, MWM and CGTSNM was just them getting STARTED...

In the years since that botched reunion, I've been able to hear Dave doing those old tunes live, with smoking bands behind him, to the point where I didn't care if Ed was there or not. Sure, it would've been nice if he had been, but whatever.

Now, this latest undertaking under the name Van Halen is every bit as much a sham as when Hagar fronted the band under that name. Roth being there softens the blow, but I agree with Poj on a lot of his points. And I'd rather see Dave and Ed try something out on their own now, without either Al or Mike involved. Call it something other than Van Halen.

My interest in a reunion for the cash with a classic-only setlist with all four CVH members was minimal. With Wolfie and no new material, it plunges to zero. I ain't shelling out big money to sit in nosebleed seats and witness that farce. 2004 was bad enough, even with new material, but this time around Dave would be a 'witting participant'.

I'll be interested in the result to the point where I'll watch whatever gets YouTubed onto this site, but fuck paying to see it. Just not worth it to me.

Ed's accepting now from a point of weakness, because he went down too many dead-ends, but at least he did it with attitude. It took balls NOT to tour with Dave in 1996, and tell the world that he was going with who HE wanted to, regardless of the result. Now, the dude is a broken man meekly reaching out to Dave too many years too late, and to think Dave is gonna go along with this because HE wants it more badly than the rest of them...

The whole thing doesn't feel right.

You are right....it doesn't feel right without the original lineup but Dave and Eddie together again without Mike is better than Sammy and Eddie with Mike. This band wasted too much time in general while they were in thier prime but there is nothing anyone can do about that.

Yeah, I was banned once, let back in then just became disgusted with the ass kissing, Sammy loving, back slapping way they do things over there.

The mods actually take their role to a degree that is sickening, kinda like the shopping mall security guy who thinks he is king shit because of a badge and uniform. Thats what I love about this place, the mods are actually the coolest people here. Now that is an ass kiss.

Considering the lead time of a typical monthly magazine, particularly one published for global distribution, the interview must have taken place at least a month or two ago.

I've read a lot of Eddie interviews over the years. These brief quotes remind me of an Eddie circa late 70s to early 80s. He actually sounds excited about recording and touring again. Wolfie's influence? Re-discovering the chemistry with Dave and hearing the results? I've no doubt that if we get a new album it will be killer.

I think the best case scenario is a new album with Wolf on bass, and a CVH tour with Mike. Wolf could play a set of new material at each show.

I totally agree! Give me Eddie, Alex, Wolf and Dave over a VH featuring Sammy Hagar any day!

I'm sure the delay in making an official announcement is ongoing discussions to get Mike involved for a tour. But if he does sign up I think it's the last we will see of him. Eddie clearly wants Wolf as the bass player for any future VH albums and tours.

Maybe it's for the best. Mike is so 'Van Hagar' now. I honestly believe he would prefer to have Sammy in the band and do Van Hagar tours for the ten years rather than ever work with Dave again.

Michael would have toured with anyone...anywhere...and day of the week.

He got fucked by Eddie...several times. He waited around for 6 fucking years (yeah, maybe he didn't have a choice...but it's not like he's hurting for money).

He defended the psycho...

He went on tour with Sammy because he wasn't doing anything else....and Dave was on the show...

He vocally said that Dave being back would be a good thing.

Then Ed essentially tells him to go and fuck himself, and wants him off the tour in 2004.

Yeah...he's basically 'Van Hagar' Now...for no reason...
