All he said is that Fender - his current company - "got it right." Yeah, shame on him. Whatever.

You dudes just want to hate on the man. Stop being so bitter. If you hate him so much, stop asking for a reunion. Same for you idiots who say he can't play.

    Jealousy is an ugly thing.
Fuck that shit. Ed put his name on that gear, signed the contracts and collected the checks. If it wasn't right its as much on him as anyone. For him to talk shit about it is just pointing out is own failures. EVH does no wrong and takes no accountability just like always. Just like everything else he is involved with.

Completely irrelevant. Pimping shit is pimping shit. Lets not forget about the Charvels, Wolfgangs, 5150's, and the dunlop phasers and flangers he was pimping.

Chiding Ed for making those comments about companies who produced EVH products in the past has to do more with commenting on Ed and his own sense of loyalty towards those he has worked with in the past than anything else...even if it's only loyalty in a sense of keeping his piehole shut and taking the higher road.

Obviously, Ed can (and does) say whatever the fuck he wants, but it's just a telling factor about the self-centeredness of the man, like Nitro Express and the Architect pointed out.

Probably also explains why the man won't go out on the road with Roth, even though it's fairly obvious that's what a majority of people want to see - it's because Ed does whatever Ed wants to do to please Ed only. If his former bandmates, former business associates and former fanbase don't like what he has to say, it's all their problem, not his.

Eddie seems to be in good health and spirits and he has the brown sound back.

2007 is shaping up to be a very good year for VAN HALEN.

God willin’, and the creek don’t run dry, just like Grandma Roth used to say. Barring any act of God or Ferrari…yeah. I have hope and faith, and that’s more than just the name of a couple of strippers from Albequerque.

You are probably right, but that is a fat sounding guitar they created together. It almost had a Fair Warning era tone to it and if he had been plugged up to the old Marshalls it would have been 1981 again. The Peaveys just don't cut it.

Went to NAMM yesterday and last night. I did hear that EVH sounded great - only drawback: he was drunk. (Not that it would surprise anyone.)

If Ed could hold it together during the Tour, I think both Ed and Dave will be able to have a successful tour this summer.

Right now, it's all in Ed's favor if he wants it:

                          - Repping Fender

                          - Introducing with pride, Wolfie as a legit member of VH and having Wolfie with him on tour as any Dad would love.

                          - A possible successful Tour this time around (based upon DLR fronting)

                          - A large portion of his fan base standing by him.

What more can he want? Let's hope he doesn't drink it away.

Should we assume that whether or not, you care about the BassPlayer slot, you will now purchase a ticket to see EVH play if Dave is involved?

BTW....I did run into both Jimmy DeGrasso and Todd Jensen at two separate times as I walked the show. I thanked them both for Summer'06 Tour and let them know that once this VH "project" is done, many of us (DLR's fan base) would like DLR's band to resume and do some original music.

These guys were very appreciative of the fan base, have great respect and admiration for DLR and if given the opportunity, will do something w/DLR after this VH project is over.

As Todd Jensen told me, "We're not going anywhere". They want to continue to play with Dave!

Just finished reading this thread and had to laugh at some of the posts here

First, the comparison between selling guitars and hot sauce is the same according to some posters here. Ya right, hot sauce has so much to do with music! Unbelieveable, just looking to hate on Ed, but you fall completely short on selling YOUR point!

Secondly, I want to see who is going to talk highly of their last employer or partnerships after they leave? You guys are just full of shit!

Thirdly, some of you assume to know why everyone listening to VH1?
Wrong, each person has their own reasons for listening to VH1, and Ed's playing was only 50% of the reason for some of us.
Without the combination of Dave and Ed, it could be a worthless album. example
                                1 See VH3
                                2 see Malmsteen

I am not a Eddie lover or a Dave lover, but I am glad to see Ed is starting to remember how to play the guitar again.

Ed and his pick, or lack of pick. Come on, the guy who
does hammer ons and pull offs more than anyone else
                                usually isn't holding a pick!
