OR, he is just happy to be where he is....and think of it this way, he WAS 1/4 of the classic lineup of VH, and no matter how much crap rolls down out of Howdy Doody Mountain in his direction, that will never change. He was 1/4 of the greatest American hard rock band there ever was.

Hell, no matter how much crap has rolled outta Howdy Doody Mountain since 1985, even the Van Halens themselves can't tarnish the impact of the 6-pack for me.

Not fair...Me and my attractive girlfriends were told to evauate the arena if we had the blue backstage passes after a Van Halen concer in 1985, and this guy gets to stay???? What's wrong with this picture? I mean I know we did some dirty deeds to obtain the passes from the scum bag rodies but we did it in the name of Daivd Lee Roth, ha,ha,ha. What's a poor girt to do? How about our friend Amy...she happened to be the third wheel that nite and she happens to be gay and let this roadie eat her out on the back of the bus..It wasn't eat'em and smile for her that's for sure! She always said how he had an alien big ass egg head in between her legs. So that winter the windows of her car were all fogged up so I drew the picture of an egg with a big alien head comming out of it! Ha,ha,ha, We still howl about that to this day! Oh and me and Cathy are still pissed off about getting the boot about the color of our passes! I got off easy that day, the roadie just fondeled my breasts meanwhile Cathy the re-born Christian had to give the same guy head til he ejactulated. I ended up telling him that she was a re-born christian since I was after her...just to make him feel a little guilty for taking advantage of us young girls. Desperados I suppose.....What we wouldn't have done for Dave!

Sounds like me and my childhood friend Cathy....Do they need two attractive back up singers to add more fuel to the fire? One blonde one brunette...one nite you'll never forget! Maybe it would distract Eddie and Dave from killing themselves buy trying to stop me and Cathy from going for eachothers throats! We're getting along these days. Ya just gotta keep some people at arms length. Godd Luck to the band and we look forward to Van Halen forever!!!!! It's who we are and who we grew up with! Diamond Dave is the top of the mountain! I'd love to bark at the moon with him someday!

Reports filter through that a new Van Halen album, with David Lee Roth on vocals, is almost finished.

The spandexed ham David Lee Roth reunited with the band in 2006 for a world tour and he and the Van Halens have been working together in the studio for the first time in 16 years.

The band is more of a family affair than ever, with Eddie's son Wolfgang Van Halen taking over bass duties since the reunion.

Now reports have appeared that the notoriously fractious band are well on the way to completing work on their first studio album together since 1984's 1984.

MelodicRock.com revealed that the album will be released in early 2011 with a single to emerge before the end of the year.

This follows a May Glide Magazine interview where Dweezil Zappa mentioned that Eddie had played him new Van Halen material and a radio interview in the same month where former Lee Roth guitarist John 5 confirmed that Eddie is 'on fire right now.'

We remain forever hopeful that Eddie and Dave don't kill each other before they finish.

Anthony's "que sera sera" public attitude about not being in Van Halen is baffling to me.

I guess the guy has enough money and enough satisfaction with where he's at now that being dumped for Ed's kid just doesn't bother him. In addition, maybe he was just plain sick and tired of dealing with the Van Halens (who DO seem to be a pair of grade-A dickheads).

Why wouldn't he be happy and comfortable where he's at..?

He's been at the top of the rock music world for over 30 years. Sharing the stage with one of the most influential, guitar legends in the history of the instrument. Add to that one of the most legenday Frontmen, Entertainers in Rock history... Diamond Dave. Plus working with a drummer who's no slouch in the cream of the crop the last 30 years.

Mike's now working side by side with what most would consider one the next best guitar legends to EVH in Satriani. At anytime he's welcomed to share the stage with the biggest names in the guitar universe and has performed with Jeff Beck, Billy Gibbons, BB King and a host others from B list hacks (Hagar) and tribute bands.

Michael Anthony's place in the top ranks of the music business really can't be topped by many. The fact that he's happy doesn't come as any surprise to me. Actually when you look at the human waste-land cluttering that landscape... it's rare to have a guy so down to earth and relatively normal psycologically having rode the rocket and returned safely from the Van Halen expeditions alive and well.
