All-Encompassing Van Halen New Album / Interscope Thread
If it comes out I think it's going to be very like Chinese Democracy.
Not much promotion by the artist
People complaining it should have come out 15 years earlier
Lacking the original line up
Disappointing sales 1/10th of what they would have been
No impact from singles
Very mixed reviews but some odd good bits
News Report / Best Buy is no longer interested in taking a bath on Guns N' Roses "Chinese Democracy", and is now practically giving the album away. As the exclusive U.S. retailer for "Democracy", Best Buy is offering a special deal on copies of the CD; you can now purchase the album via BestBuy.com for just $1.99. The retailer reportedly paid $14 million for 1.6 million copies of the album, according to Hits; to date, "Democracy" has sold just 614,000 copies in the U.S., based on Nielsen SoundScan reports.

Aren't the sales numbers based on units shipped? Rather than units actually sold to a consumer? So Axl gets credit for selling 1.6 million copies and the album looks like a success. We won't count the 1 million copies gathering dust in some warehouse of crates next to the Ark from Indiana Jones..

I agree for the most part. But the lacking original lineup bit is NOT like what Axl did. If Chinese Democracy was AXL & Slash with the other non original members, it would have felt like real GnR. At least to a huge amount of people. As is with VH, with Eddie & Dave to most people it will feel like real VH.

You better back up that statement with a fuckin' link and/or a scan, sonny boy.
Thou shalt not desecratereth Scott Ian's name in vain.
Half a day to backup your statement, or prepare to be trolled into oblivion.
Cheers! :bottle:
Went back stage to a show in Detroit for the Damned Things, asked him about VH he said the album was done a supposed come out around October . That's all i got ... take it for what its worth. I'm not trying to be a big shot just passing on info on my favorite band.
By the way sunny boy, i had already been to my first VH show before you were even born.
Viewing that pic Chef, did that ship sink because someone broke the clear NO SMOKING rule posted on the bridge?
i thought it said "no sinking"
Another one of those classic genius posts, sure to generate responses. You log on the next day to see what your witty gem has produced to find no one gets it and 2 knotheads want to stick their dicks in it... Well played, sir!!

It's true that they will miss MA a lot less in the studio than live but we don't get 100% Eddie nowadays either.

That's what happens when a lame cover band decides to take 15 years to record an album, and when they release it they do so using the name of a kickass band that has not existed for....well...15 years!
Axle Grease made his coins off it I am sure.
But he is just an ignorant fucking loser who does not have a clue.
