Yeah, I bet even the band themselves would be surprised to find out they performed anywhere that year.

Admiral, I thought I remembered the 1985 Van Halen tour,
then I realized it was just a flashback from too much LDS in the 60's

[QUOTE=VAiN;1519493]I'm just jealous that you got a VH show in 1985.[/QUOTE Shit we were all backstage with them in 1984. We were like 17 yrs. old. Eddie was married to Val and was the only one that wasn't partying backstage that year. We were getting high with their midget bodyguards. I grabbed Dave and asked him if I could see his belly button (we were so drunk) so I pull his shirt up and I couldn't find it with all that manly hair on his chest, so I go to him Where's it at?" And he goes, "What do ya mean where's it at?" Then I'm like "Take me Dave I'm yours...and he goes, "I'll take you into the sunset baby and I'll show you something." How about this, they had a record machine backstage and I jumoed on Alex Van Halens back and he tried to finger me from behind...I jumped off pretty fast. Then Dave dissappeared...I guess we were jail bait. Now that's when backstage was a real party man. I've got some great stories. We would cut school and go down the next day and see them leave the hotel. One time Dave was eating breakfast alone and his manager told us to leave him alone (yea, right) so we torchered him through the window and then he slowly raised his middle finger at us! How dare he! So we gave it right back to him. All 5 of us lined up. Crazy kids! Maybe he was hung over, or had a fight with Val and Eddie who knows.....We just wanted to meet him.

Hey Captain Kirk, you should just ask Scotty to beam you up to the star date 84-85 shows. It ain't that hard.

                      Van Halen

In Van Halen news just in. According to Triple M music reporter Nui Te Koha Van Halen are locking in dates for an Aussie tour to support a new album that should be out by August this year.

"Van Halen dates are getting locked in. They'll be here with [singer] David Lee Roth," he announced this morning on Triple M Melbourne's Hot Breakfast, "Van Halen representatives were here with the Eagles during the Eagles tour in December.

He added: "They're recording a new album at the moment. [Guitarist] Eddie Van Halen says he doesn't want to do any shows until there is new material. And that new material should be out by August."

You little ripper. Great to see Diamond David Lee Roth and the boys are back in the studio, but let's hope they play all those old classics as well, like stuff from the magnificent 1984 album!
                      Is this getting real ?

Sounds almost too good to be true ...

I talk to Billy every few months. He is a close friend of a couple of good friends.
He has been really happy to go out as of late and do the Experience Hendrix tours.

He gets the recognition he deserves on those tours.

And yes, he is really a nice, down-to-earth guy.

Wish they were all like him.

He was 1/4 of the greatest American hard rock band there ever was.
Well, in terms of poundage or square footage of space he would take up in a room, I would say it is more like 31% of the greatest American hard rock band.

Do you really think he contributed 25% of the Van Halen experience and songs?

                          I think not.

In a live situation? I vote a solid hell yes.. MA is rock solid, knows his place, shows up everyday and loves his fucking job. What more can you ask for in a bass player if your name is Edward Van Fuckin' Halen?
