I couldn't care less about the attendance--that's the promoter's problem at this point--but you really think Aerosmith is going to make a big difference? Most of the people who care about Aerosmith already paid to see them at the canceled standalone concert, so it's just a shell game there with the tickets. If that accounts for even 10,000 new people to the festival (very high estimate, they probably wouldn't have canceled if they had sold that many tickets), that's still not tripling ticket sales.

I saw 4000 tix sold thrown around here and figure Aerosmith will make it 12000...I think they are the bigger draw (sadly)...maybe thats high considering only a couple weeks remain..

Yeah that was the Melodicrock number which I highly doubt...I think they'd just cancel the Festival if tickets were that weak. If the number is true then yeah, a few thousand Aero fans would triple the attendance.

You know what though, all that's important IMO is that any Aussie who hasn't seen DLR-fronted Van Halen yet finally gets to see them. The hell with anyone else performing or how many people show up.
