And THEN, true to form, I'd log onto this site, write a scathing review and periodically return to bitch about it for years to come.
I don't know man...I remember opening nite in '07...I went to the show, my kid spent the nite with my mom and I went and didn't have one drink - had to drive home of course. I got home, proceeded to get half lit then wrote my review over at DDLR. I was so thrilled to see Dave back in the band that Wolfie could have come out in Power Rangers pajamas and it wouldn't have made one bit of difference to me. I think it would be the same if I went to a show and Mike was there. It may not be as good as I think it would be, but it would be better than I could have imagined, if only for that one nite.

Anyway, back on topic - Fast Times - if you dug that movie and have never seen The Wild Life, you really should check it out. Great fuckin' movie.

                "It's casual"

That was a great movie. And it starts of with the instrumental version of Blood & Fire.

Haven't listened to this in a while. This is pure brown sound. What we got on ADKOT was reddish black.

Great catch phrase. And Penn did a great job in that picture, Stoltz too. I remember seeing it at the movies and thinking "No wayyyy! That guy turned his glove box into a beer cooler?? I got to have one of those!" Hahahahaha.

No kids, you shouldn't try that. It was a different time, back when drinking and driving wasn't such a big deal.

Now, I love Blood & Fire. But I prefer the instrumental, Ripley. Same thing with She's The Woman and the other redone songs. Not because I pine away for the days when Dave could peel paint and shatter glasses with his screams. But because I can't unlearn the original lyrics, and because I'm just so damn used to hearing Ripley without lyrics.

I agree. Some of those earlier lyrics were God awful, but that just didn't and doesn't matter.

Well, I kinda prefer the original to "her Thunder Thong around your neck"

I mean, come on! When I hear Thunder Thong I immediately get a mental picture of Honey Boo Boo's mom wearing a K Mart thong and farting like a rhinoceros.

Outta Space is creative yet too frenetic. Let's Get Rockin' is dumb yet catchy.

Big Trouble is fun in a Jamie's Cryin' sense. Big River is fun in a old fart going camping sense.

Tattoo, again some points for creativity, but the theme, soul, swagger and character that went into the club version (not the Japan one) of Down In Flames is just too damn good.

Bullethead. Never understood more than a few words of the original, but it's manic delivery pushes it past the choppy verses of the ADKOT version.

Beats Workin I actually like the new better than the old. "Fast Eddie. He's getting ready". Duh. The only slip up on the new is the same as Outta Space. Dave is singing in the Indeedido voice. Too shrill to really understand what the hell he's saying.
