Goddamn!! Fuuuuuuuuck. The cheese wad just won’t go away. I think that Sammy and Mike sing the Red Cocker and Van Hasbeen hits at the Raider’s Bronco’s game is the cheesiest shit storm I’ve ever witnessed. I needed to take a shower, be exercised by a shaman and sprinkled with holy water after seeing the vile mess.

Yes its super gay. I didn't bother watching the video but I'm gonna say it was lame and gay.
Checking this thread... I was reminded of the good old days when a thread with this much Hagar cuntent would be sent to the Dump™ where all the other manure was stored. Wouldn't be helpful today as Main would be about as busy as a graveyard on a Tuesday... Where is David Lee Roth..?

In contrast with the Links unfortunately the Army is a graveyard of sorts.
I went to see what the reactions were to AVH's book and lo and behold the majority were moaning and whining about Alex not talking about anything after Dave left in 1985. The Hagarites there are alive and well. Should re-name the place SHLinks.
Fuck the Links! They are composed of snowflakes and pussies. And there are a ton of them! I can’t bring myself to googling the links and follow thru… why discuss the same shit there if you can discuss here. I don’t even remember if I have a login over there
Careful. One must be reminded that Diamond Dave tried the Vegas lounge act in the 90’s. Didn’t he try again just a few years ago?
btw it looks like the front line forum missed you while you were out … preparing your doomsday bunker ?
My dad did a lot of business in Vegas and he was always flying there. Sometimes I would tag along and this was 70’s Vegas. So I have a feel for what it’s supposed to be. There used to be a classy element there. I don’t know what the place is now. It feels so dead and corporate . It’s like a naughty Chuck E Cheese. I guess Sam will fit right in.
I go to Abu Dahbi a lot now for business. Dubai is only an hour away. You can tell they have done their own spin on what the high roller Vegas was but on a grander scale. But if you want top tier hotels and restaurants and just a fun place to goof off, Dubai is pretty good.

I took a look around the main forum there maybe...I dunno, 15 years ago or so. Seemed VERY pro-Hagar...even more so than just pro-Eddie. Like, a definite anti-Roth vibe.
From what you say, that pro-Hagar mindset seems to remain dominant. Plus, the guy who runs it is a real douche nozzle. So, you know, fuck that place.

When I was growing up in the 1970's, Vegas had this aura of definitely being a place for grown-ups. You know, back when grown-ups were actually adults and not the overgrown children passing for adults these days.
I suppose it was because I never particularly cared for gambling that I never made a more concerted effort to go there for a visit. But by the time I would have been old enough to go on my own circa late 1980's/early 1990's the Mob was basically out of the hotels and casinos anyway.
From the people I know who have been, they unanimously told me it's exactly as you said, which is to say a corporatized, naughty Chuck E Cheese/Disneyesque feel. I HAVE been told that there are still some good live shows to be seen there and that the food is good. Even so, while I'm not a gambling man, I'd be willing to wager I'll never bother going. The Vegas I would have liked to have went to vanished in the early 1980's.

At least when Dave tried the Vegas lounge act in 1995, the idea of a rock star along the lines of Roth (i.e. a hard rock star) doing Vegas was sort of new or unique. And the mid-1990's stint saw Dave doing something quite different than he previously had live, both in terms of material and presentation. Unlike his Vegas gigs of several years back, which was basically a standard, CVH-heavy set.
These days, so many aging hard rock acts have had Vegas residencies to the point where it's beyond cliche. Hagar will probably do the same set in Vegas that he's done in other venues around the country on this tour, so it'll basically be what he's doing already, just in Vegas.
