    Van Hagar is Done!!

KSHE radio in St. Louis just played an interview with Sammy done last week in Cabo.

Among other things, he says that he likes Van Halen, but he likes the Waboritas better. He said he was glad he did the tour, but that Van Halen has now been brought to a conclusion. No plans for VH post tour. He said he was upset that "certain other people" in the band didn't make the commitment to the fans that Sammy did.

Hopefully, KSHE will post this on their website. This was an amazing interview by KSHE's Favazz. I hope they put it up.

Among the other things, he talked about the Cabo Wabo cantinas, and the one St. Louis is supposed to be getting.

The DJ related a story about wearing a Cabo Wabo t-shirt to a Van Halen concert this tour, and he was apparently asked by someone in the VH camp to remove it, "to keep world peace." Sammy said, "If I had know that, you would've still been wearing that beautiful red t-shirt, and someone would've had a black eye."

I grabbed this off of the links, if Sam walks, Dave is in, it's gonna happen!!!!!:D

KSHE ain't no fly by night shit either, this station and that Favazz guy are pretty tight with hagar. Now I'm no Van Hagar hater, never claimed to be. But if them splitting would bring Dave back, burn that bitch down!!

The thing is, all the other stuff could be BS, but KSHE is a big time radio station, and the words came straight out of his mouth on there.

Trust me, Ed ain't gonna let Sam dictate when VH is "over", Dave is on the way, I can feel it!!

If Sam was gonna spill the beans on things not going well, or if they were going well, it would be on KSHE, no doubt.

Golly gee whiz Batman, who could he be referring to ???

I'll give Sambo many props if this turns out to be true, and it will prove once and for all that the common denominator for all of the internal strife is none other than Edward Lodewijk.....

It's obvious fellow K-Mart shoppers, they need The Diamond One to whip that drunk puppy back into shape, get his mind focused on being the guitar god that he once was, and get the mighty Van Halen back once again !!!!

Thanks mate! That's great news and confirmation of what we have been hearing for a while now. Perhaps the rumours of a deal been done with Dave long ago were true. Dave's ongoing silence is certainly interesting.

Was in high spirits when Roth hooked up with VH in 1996.

                  Less so in 2000.

Now Sammy leaving and providing the classic lineup with (yet another) opportunity to reconvene doesn't really get me charged up.

The only thing Ed and Al are good at is snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, and have hit rock bottom with enough frequency to make even the most grizzled, habitual crack addict remark, "These guys are FUCKED UP!".

In terms of new material, the best classic VH could offer at this point isn't gonna be good enough. There was nothing in the three new 2004 tracks which perked my ears up the way Humans Being did in terms of instrumentation that led me to think Eddie was making an effort again, and left me hopeful when I heard Roth was recording with the band in early summer 1996 (Classic Rock claimed that the three new BOBW tracks have "the disquieting effect of sounding like a Van Halen covers band who've taken the plunge and decided to record original material", and this doesn't sound far from the mark).

Ed just isn't up to par. Admittedly, it's a high standard he set for himself, but even in the depths of the Van Halen 3 album and tour fiasco I never felt he was incapable of splitting the atom with his axe if he so desired to (not just talking about playing fast here, either). Sadly, this doesn't hold today. He's one-half of the Roth/EVH component that drove the band creatively (AVH's historical revisionism to one side), and it's a problem that's damaged beyond repair.

It's possible I'm down on the prospects of classic VH reuniting in part because I don't want to get revved up and letdown when it doesn;t come together. But looking at the situation as it stands now realistically, Ed doesn't have the juice and Al's running the show. Neither of which bode well for a stunning reunion.

I wanna believe as much as anyone else, but maybe Ed had a point in 1996 when he said some things are best left to memory.

You may be right. And if so, then Van Halen is definitely better left to memory.

Of course, the one thing that'll be worth it will be seeing the Sheep crying their eyes out over this.

This is a breath of fresh air, no doubt.

But in all honesty, roy knew all too well from the get-go this was no long term commitment.

Hell, I could be wrong though...he could very well be that fucking stupid.

This isn't the first radio station to say something like this, and it won't be the last I'm sure.... I know most people would like to believe this, but with this band I consider all things rumors until AFTER it has happened.... Besides, they've just added more dates.
