I am making spinach lasagne. And I just used one of your american style can openers for the first time ever. I got a bunch of presents from work, including one of those. It is amazing. It took no time, and no force at all. I never would have bought it myself before, I always kinda thought that you guys were pussies for not using a proper, old school can opener. But I was wrong. You guys are amazing at making up stuff that lead to less work :D
Oh dear.

Awesome man, I'm looking forward to catching a few beers with you. My favorite place is the Fish Shack here in Pompano. It's a hole-in-the wall, but the quality and freshness cannot be beat at 3x the price. Also in Pompano is Seafood World - http://papahughieseafoodrestaurant.com Once you get past the silly name, it's pretty fucking good. It's also a marketplace so you know it's fresh. They make a stuffed hogfish that's fantastic. If you want to go a little more on the swanky side for a nice brunch, there's Sea Watch - http://www.seawatchontheocean.com It's literally on the beach and has a beautiful 2nd story balcony that wraps around. Impress for out-of-staters...
I'm throwing in a destination - The Fish House in Key Largo - http://www.fishhouse.com It's about a 2 hour drive, but it's a good one.. If you're down this far, you really should think about doing a night or 2 in the upper keys. It's surprisingly affordable, especially considering you'll be here out of season.
Chef might be able to make some recommendations as well.. he's a local too. Hope this helps!Last edited by VAiN; 01-26-2013, 09:40 PM.Originally posted by wiseguyThat shit will welcome you in the morning and pour the milk in your count chocula for ya.Comment

We use those kind of can openers here in the US as well. I use the one with the handles and the two wheels at home because it's faster but use what you call the European kind when I go backpacking to save on weight. I use the little folding ones the US military use. I think they call them the M1 can opener. Very small and they hardly weigh anything and they open a can pretty good.
The American style can openers will last a long time if they are made of quality steel. As Elvis said the newer ones tend to be Chinese made pieces of crap. No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment
