So why were either of them there? I suppose you could make the argument that a VP might need to be at the White House as "acting President" if there were an emergency and the pResident was out of town. But who told Darth there would be an emergency the next day?

Anyone who believes either of those theories has an elastic imagination anyway. I'm sure the government pulls their fair share of bullshit on the citizens they're supposedly serving but as you stated something of the magnitude of these tragedies would make some guilty party spill the beans to somebody.

Especially the theory that no way in hell a truck bomb could take out even one reinforced steel column of a building from ten feet away, and the truck was something like 25 feet away supposedly taking the whole front of the building off...

The building was wired with "grey sticks of butter" as some witnesses have said, and bomb disposal units were filmed by local TV removing unexploded bomb material...and on and on...

My point is this - the US governement was totally behind 9/11 and there were thousands of people who bought into the conspiracy and actively participated in it according to what I've read here. But they can't possibly be behind a shoot out at a movie theatre? I'm not saying they are - I'm just saying why would you believe one and not the other? It's like saying you believe in the Easter Bunny but not Santa Claus.

I'm not a fan of conspiracy theories in general and I tend to think InsideJobbers like Alex Jones are profiteering asshats. But there are different levels of conspiracy theories on 9/11 and I tend to hate the "Loose Change" type assholes yet I would leave open the possibility that the Admin knew more than they have indicated and failed to take action out of incompetence and apathy. I'm pretty sure even The Official 9/11 Report sort of indicates that if you read between the lines. But really, I fail to see the relevancy of your point?
