Bro, I am glad you posted this. The Cure....#1 on pollstar?!?!, they f--king blow dog. Robert Smith sucks worst than Spammy. You think the type of crowd that follows The Cure has the money to shell out the big bucks being demanded for this year's concert tickets. Rightttt
You see those bozo's on The Tonight Show a couple of weeks ago? Bunch of f--king idiots.
Hell, Robert Smith isn't even on the new Top 100 Frontman/women list that just came out. Here's my post on another thread:

Spammy Fagar is just damn lucky that Gary Rossington’s heart problems last year caused the cancellation of the Sammy Hagar-Lynard Skynrd 2003 Tour. Those ol’ boys would have blown Hagar and his two-bit band out of the arena so bad, it probably would have been some type of chargable offense!

I'll put a year's pay on the bet, these lawsuit will happen!

WTF, Those BillBoard #'s are total crap for VH - Phili, both as to attendance and capacity of Wachovia, per the Settlement sheets. Where in the hell did Billboard get those worthless numbers. I mean CCC supplies all this info and they will say anything, but they damn sure wouldn't say these numbers for Phili. Makes them look like total idiots!
The two Phili shows had MUCH MORE attendance than just 21,385 for the 2 nights! And the 2 night concert capacity for the Wachovia Center, with VH's stage setup was 39,100. Hell, the Center has hosted concerts with way over 20,000 in that place.
Many times promoters will lie about venue capacity to make sales/capacity % look better. However none of these numbers make sense. I'll have my secretary contact Billboard and see what the hell is going on.
PS: As to the $1.55 million gross revenue number on Phili - If that is all they did gross, CCE lost their ass on those Phili shows! Hell, Van Halen's residual guarantee ate most of that damn number, before you even talk about venue lease, and all the other fix and variable overhead of those two shows..gs

For years, Van Halen fans have been hoping the band would reunite with whichever big-name lead singer Eddie could stand to be with for more than five minutes.
On Tuesday, a recently reconstituted version of the group, with Sammy Hagar on the mike, hit the stage at the Meadowlands. It was the first Van Halen road show with that lineup in nine years and the first with any singer in six.
We should have been left to our memories.
The performance revealed a group as disjointed musically as they've ever been personally. While the foursome certainly seemed to give their all, they never coalesced as a band. Hagar was in horrible voice, and the sound system pummeled much of the sound to mulch.
While there were no dancing trolls or exploding drummers, there was something a wee bit Spinal Tappish about the whole thing.
Certainly, the show didn't want for a dramatic back story. First, there were the complicated hiring issues, with the band having a) canned their last singer, the ghastly Gary Cherone, b) once again shunned their first vocalist, David Lee Roth, and c) hired back the yutzy Sammy.
There were also medical issues: Eddie was playing in public for the first time since beating tongue cancer.
Small wonder he reacted so emotionally to the crowd's rousing ovation for his trademark extended guitar cadenza.
He cried.
Twice.
It should also be said that, at 49, Eddie looked great. He still has the ripped bod of his youth.
But you knew the band was in trouble when even an uplifting song like "Jump" stumbled. It had almost no lift, and what little there was came from prerecorded synthesizers.
For large portions of the show Eddie Van Halen seemed to be playing in his own world, concentrating more on his admirably zippy leads than on enhancing the rhythm of the band or fleshing out the melodies.
That left bassist Michael Anthony and drummer Alex Van Halen to bash and flail, together creating a great sense of fury but little groove or momentum.
In hard-rocking numbers, like "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" or "Best of Both Worlds," the punch of the pieces came through more than their swing. In their most pop-oriented songs, like "Dreams" and "Right Now," Hagar couldn't navigate the high notes that highlight their melodic sweep.
As personally sweet as Eddie Van Halen's comeback may have been, the 10-minute solo that inspired his emotional outburst only indulged his greatest excesses. One section, which started like an sonic exploration of the heavens, ended up more like an exploration of Eddie's navel.
As with the whole show, you wanted to cheer the return of a good band, but — as a unit — they didn't seem quite there to receive the applause.

not sure i follow...what is unheard of about tickets on ebay? they have tickets for everything up there. aerosmith, ozzfest, madonna, prince. i dont know anything about lawsuits or anything but just search on ebay and you can find tickets to just about anything.
and not to question you gslinger, but what do you do that your secretary can call billboard and find out the true numbers. im new here and just was curious
I scanned through that site last week. There is so many CCC and VH Management directed "plants" over their it makes me puke green day-glow chunks. The comments are so f--king obvious! Bulk of the rest of the posters are a bunch of headcase groupies IMO.
I like how all the 4 Star iloveallaccess people are glad they spent $175 on their VH concert passes when you could sit in the same seats for $10 - $40 with secondary market VH tickets to ANY VH show to-date.
What are they happy about, that they got dry f--ked?! ..gs
PS: Lookit, I am not into bashing Brett's VHLinks site. This is the only time I will answer this question. I am only saying this now for the first time, because I see a lot of VH fans getting screwed on ticket prices by going to that site and believing in all the total BS there!
I sure hope CCC (CCE) and VH Management are paying Brett, and some of VHLinks moderators, for the fine work they do for them ...........

Like I was just saying in another thread, a shill is a shill is a shill...
As a VH fan for over 20 years, I feel compelled to make a few comments about all the Van Hagar bashing that continually pollutes this forum. Before I make comments that will certainly inflame many of your contaiminated senses of reality, let me say that I love David Lee Roth.....as well as Sammy Hagar. Even while listening to VH with Diamond Dave as their lead, I was also amassing my collection of Sammy Hagar albums. When DLR went his own way, I was crushed like many of you, but I was also pleased with the announcement that Sammy would be his replacement. With that said, permit me to address the 2004 VH Reunion Tour:
Two years ago, I eagerly stood in line to purchase my 2nd row center section tickets for the Sam and Dave tour in Hershey, PA. While seeing Dave again was truly a nostalgic experience, Sammy absolutely blew him off the stage. At over 50 years of age, Sammy sang better than ever, while Dave struggled to keep a tune. It was then that I realized that if VH ever had any hopes of returning to glory, it would have to be with Sam.
Face it....seeing Dave on the stage with VH again would be great for a trip down memory lane. We could hear all the old stuff over again. But if you're truly a fan of Ed, Mike, and Alex, you'd want them to move forward and write new stuff. To be successful in that way again, Sammy is their only shot.
Say what you want about the 3 new songs, but Up For Breakfast is a great one. Have most of you have forgotten about Me Wise Magic and that other loser track from Best of VH Volume 1?
I was at the Hershey show a few weeks ago, and it was absolutely great to see Sam and the boys again. They sounded fantastic! So, rather than expending all this energy in arguing about who was better, why don't you talk about how good they can be again.

And the exact opposite of that is what happened at the stop on the sans halen tour I attended. To the point that a good 1/3 of the crowd started leaving half way through Sam's set (yes, we were stuck with Sam headlining on this night).
That isn't an intended direct knock on Sam, but are the simple facts. Dave opened and blew the crowd away, while Sam could not hold a candle following. The contrast was striking, and the crowd reacted accordingly.
The thousands upon thousands in attendance that night who left early didn't have any sort of "contaiminated sense of reality". And me, I in fact stayed to the shows end -- when even Sammy complimented Dave on how great he sounded and how much fun he'd had touring with him.
I know, it doesn't fit in line with the knocks he spews now, and did before when kissing Ed's little ass, but that is Sam for you. Whichever way the wind blows.
Today, he may have sucked his way back into the band as its hired hand front man, but he sure as hell isn't "saving" VH in any way shape or form. This abortion of a tour is killing what little is left of the once great rock dynasty Dave and Eddie built.
Bottom line, you come on here and instantly make a blanket statement, taking a shot at forum members that is without any merit. And, that is putting it very nicely, intentionally.
Further, you condem a legendary performer based on one single show in which he may have been "off" his game, according to you...
Actually, I've seen DLR twice since his split with VH, and as much as it pains me to admit, his voice is gone. At Hershey, we were pleaured to have Sam as our headliner after watching the Diamond Dave show. Again, it was great to see Dave, but during several of the songs, it took me awhile to figure out what he was trying to sing. In stark contrast, Sammy's voice still sounds fantastic!
When Dave was in his prime, VH may have made better music. Their songs were about fast cars, hot women, and getting laid. Undortunately, we're living in the present when VH is singing about love and romance, but that's okay by me. You can remain in denial, and that's okay too, but if you were truly honest with yourself, you'd admit that if VH has any chance of being successful again, it's with Sammy.
Again, why not be happy for Ed, Mike, and Alex rather than dreaming about the past and what will never, ever happen?

Wipe the steam off, and look in the mirror.
Excellent post my good man, and so right you are. Just wanted to see that one in print again.
