Hi chef - I've been hanging out at the VHND a lot lately (as Halen High). A few months ago, I started visting the VHND regularly again for the first time since Grant ran the site. I read a lot of Dave-bashing/CVH-bashing comments and thought that's it, I'm going on a tour-of-duty to straighten these fools out. I've enjoyed correcting many falsehoods (most of which originate from Spammy and are simply repeated) and giving my views on the hilariously awful new Chickenfoot songs/videos. But I've enjoyed the banter and met a lot of really good people over there, including some Sammy fans who have a more - shall we say - realistic view of the band's history.

Yes - had a great Christmas and I hope you and family also had a fantastic holiday season. It's good to be back and I'm looking forward to spending a lot more time here. Cheers mate.

How are you my brother? I'm still posting at the VHND but the new comments system makes it harder to find people you want to chat with. The VHND has been a great source of info but how cool is it for the Army to have an exclusive with Dave's stuff? I'm still blown away by that!!! And it's totally deserved for all the years of loyalty and flying the flag for CVH/Dave.

Yeah, that new comments section is none too thrilling looking. Thinking about starting up over there with this name and avatar for continuity some day. Sad that I'm giving it that much thought. Is the pro-Foot crowd still yappin' away? Think I just got too tired of the same game of volleyball over there.

The Foot crowd is a little quiet these days. No surprise - their album flopped and just a few minutes of Van Halen shooting a video with a tour announcement has generated about a 1000 times more media interest than the release of Hagar's entire album.

and, if Chickenshit is foolish enough to go on tour, they will play considerably smaller venues than VH will. think 1500-2000 seaters, a step up from clubs but nowhere even close to a college basketball arena sized room.

speaking of loyalty, since Hagarelli likes to throw that word around...why didn't he recruit the Waborita drummer to fill in for Chad Smith when he returned to the RHCP?

My hopes for the untitled Van Halen album.

In my eyes, Dave's laughter, ad-libbing and changing the lyrics on the fly made the first five Van Halen albums (and to a lesser extent 1984) absolute works of art, sort of "time and place" type albums, much like the Rolling Stones' "Exile on Main Street". I'm afraid that the new album will be too perfect, too obsessed over and too clean. In the modern age of Pro Tools and Mac Books we get too many perfect albums that feel like NOTHING AT ALL. Like a Big Mac (at best) that always tastes the same versus a great bottle of single barrel bourbon which tastes like no other. Here's to hoping the new Van Halen album is imperfect, unplanned and maybe even a little sloppy.

What would you like to hear the new Van Halen album sound like?
