So, have you actually BEEN to an OWS event to comment on the protester's personal grooming habits, or are you (as usual) regurgitating what you heard Newt(ered) say on the news last night? We know how you like to parrot elitist pricks, wouldn't be shocking...Originally posted by conmee

Pregnant Seattle protester miscarries after being kicked, pepper sprayed
By David Edwards
Tuesday, November 22, 2011
A woman who was pepper sprayed during during a raid on Occupy Seattle last week is blaming police after she miscarried Sunday.
Jennifer Fox, 19, told The Stranger that she had been with the Occupy protests since they started in Westlake Park. She said she was homeless and three months pregnant, but felt the need to join activists during their march last Tuesday.
“I was standing in the middle of the crowd when the police started moving in,” Fox recalled. “I was screaming, ‘I am pregnant, I am pregnant. Let me through. I am trying to get out.’”
She claimed that police hit her in the stomach twice before pepper spraying her. One officer struck her with his foot and another pushed his bicycle into her. It wasn’t clear if either of those incidents were intentional.
“Right before I turned, both cops lifted their pepper spray and sprayed me. My eyes puffed up and my eyes swelled shut,” Fox said.
Seattle Post-Intelligencer photographer Joshua Trujillo snapped a picture of Fox in apparent agony as another activist carried her to an ambulance.
Seattle fire department spokesman Kyle Moore told The Washington Post that a 19-year-old pregnant woman was among those that were examined by paramedics.
While doctors at Harborview Medical Center didn’t see any problems at the time, things took a turn for the worst Sunday.
“Everything was going okay until yesterday, when I started getting sick, cramps started, and I felt like I was going to pass out,” she explained.
When Fox arrived at the hospital, doctors told her that the baby had no heartbeat.
“They diagnosed that I was having a miscarriage. They said the damage was from the kick and that the pepper spray got to it [the fetus], too,” she said.
“I was worried about it [when I joined the protests], but I didn’t know it would be this bad. I didn’t know that a cop would murder a baby that’s not born yet… I am trying to get lawyers.”
The Scoville heat chart indicates that U.S. grade pepper spray is ten times more painful than the blistering hot habanero pepper, according to Scientific American. While law enforcement officials regulary claim that the spray is safe, researchers at the University of North Carolina and Duke University found that it could “produce adverse cardiac, respiratory, and neurologic effects, including arrhythmias and sudden death.”

Common sense would go. "OH SHIT, I'M PREGNANT WITH CHILD, I'M A MOTHER. I SHOULD NOT BE HERE".
And what the cop did was scummy, not defending him in the least bit. But, christ people, USE. YOUR. BRAINS. If there's a cop doing this shit nearby, the natural human instinct is to run. I'm sorry, it is.
I know if I had kids, this would probably be the last place I'd be.Still waiting for a relevant Browns TeamComment

And now reading it, I guess she was trying to get out.
but again, in the first place, she should not have been there. I'm sorry, I know she may have some passion on the issue and she has every right to protest it. But common sense says, you would not be in a place where violonce could escalate.Still waiting for a relevant Browns TeamComment

Cops shouldn't be hitting ANYBODY in the gut for merely exercising their constitutional rights, but certainly not a pregnant woman.
While I personally wouldn't recommend that a pregant woman (or an 84 year old grandmother, for that matter) attend these events because of the actions of these fascists, that's beside the point. The pigs were wrong, and in this case they acted very deliberately. There is no justification for it.Eat Us And Smile

I will say that going along my beliefs in dealing with the police, I go along with what Chris Rock and the Crabman have taught me:

If anything good or bad that ever comes out of the OWS it is people have more of a distrust and paranoia for their local police department; cops are basically thuggery cunts with maintained a D average GPA in college when they studied "criminal justice." Most don't even need a bachelor's degree to be a cop anymore. Here in Denver, to a be cop all you need is a two year stint at a community college and presto! you have a badge, gun, nightstick and a reason to kick the shit out of anyone who looks at you wrong.
OWS must be the best shit ever to happen to a cop who has been rejected, picked on all their life, not too mention beaten by their fathers and has a love of weapons. There was a story recently that took place in Dayton, Ohio where a man with a speech impediment was nearly beaten to death by a police office because the cop could not understand him and thought the man was being "disrespectful." The man could not "run" from it. So either shut the fuck up or realize this is the state we are living in.
Oh and chances are high that the cop who (allegedly) kicked this women in the stomach will not be reprimanded. He might have his name, badge #, personal address, and phone number posted all over the net...but other than that no justice will ever be served.Comment

Right-Wing "Daily Caller" Reporters Beaten By NYPD, Helped By OWS Protesters
By Zaid Jilani on Nov 17, 2011 at 1:20 pm
The Daily Caller's Michelle Fields faced abuse from the NYPD and help from protesters.
The right-wing Daily Caller website has been anything but kind to Occupy Wall Street, even going so far as to condemn the protest movement as generating riots, murder, and arson.
But when a couple of Daily Caller employees were at Occupy Wall Street this morning, it was the very protesters they had been demonizing who ended up helping them out. Daily Caller reporter Michelle Fields — who faced off with actor Matt Damon earlier this year over education policy — and videographer Direna Cousins both claim they were attacked by the New York Police Department (NYPD) while covering the raucous protests in the Financial District today. Fields added that Occupy Wall Street protesters immediately came up to her to offer their help:
“Direna had a camera in her hand and I had a microphone, and we were being hit,” she said. “When I fell to the ground I said at one point, ‘I’m just covering this! I’m covering this!’ And the officer just said, ‘Come on, get up, get up,’ before pulling me up by my jacket.’” “The protesters came up to me right away and asked if I needed any medical assistance. They were actually very kind and helpful. It was the police officers who were very aggressive,” Fields added.

I followed up and this is what I found:
Fox has declined to provide medical records supporting her claim that she had a miscarriage five days after being hit, and her family has cast doubt on the claim.
But Seattle police have launched an internal investigation because of the "seriousness of her allegations," spokesman Mark Jamieson said.
"Their goal is to find any — any — info that supports her claims," he said. "You have to take her word."
In an interview Tuesday at the Occupy Seattle encampment on Capitol Hill, Fox said she had three ultrasound pictures of her fetus in her tent, but declined to show them to reporters.
She also said she did not plan to pick up medical records at Harborview Medical Center that could document the miscarriage until after a planned memorial service Saturday, and she declined to sign a waiver allowing reporters to obtain the documents independently.

If anyone has any more video, it would be very helpful.
Crowd control is challenging. Riot control is intense. One of my first security positions on Bourbon Street was due to a need to remove/control/contain female patrons. Containing a female through the use of her waist is unacceptable due females unique anatomy.
If or if not Ms. Fox story is true, if there is any video of male or female officers using a female's waist for control/containment/removal, it needs to be brought forward and addressed."I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. - Some come from ahead and some come from behind. - But I've bought a big bat.
